Scott D. Van Dam, DDS, MD
Dr. Van Dam joined Black Hills Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2007. He completed his dental training at Creighton University and received his medical and surgical training at the Mayo Clinic. He is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, the American Medical Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists. He is a past president of the Black Hills District Dental Society. Currently Dr. Van Dam is serving on the Ethics Committee and as a Trustee of the South Dakota Dental Association. He is also a member of the Professional Practice Committee at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Dr. Van Dam is committed to providing the highest quality of surgical care, along with safe and comfortable anesthesia for his patients. His professional interests include outpatient anesthesia, reconstructive jaw surgery, dental implant surgery, as well as maxillofacial trauma and pathology.
Dr. Van Dam grew up in Germany and Holland and speaks fluent German and Dutch. He and his wife are blessed with three children. He is actively involved in the Rapid City community through church service as well as the Rushmore Rotary Club. .
